Customize the Curriculum
Parents and tutors collaborate to select the curriculum for their children as done with homeschooling. Our program ensures the continuity of each child's academic plan by offering instructional help and guidance as needed.
Socialization
Students benefit from socializing in a Christian environment with Godly supervision. Students have access to all of the sports and extracurricular activities offered at Parkhurst Academy.
High Standards
PHA has high standards for behavior, thus providing a peaceful and safe environment for learning and developing healthy friendships.
Full & Part Time Access
Full Time Access Includes:
o 100 % collaboration between tutors and parents on curriculum.
o Instructional help and guidance as needed.
o Tutors help to maintain the student portfolio, dependent upon student participation.
o Certified teacher evaluation is provided at the end of the academic year for that child, as required by the state, should that be a need.
o Standardized testing opportunities are available, should the parent desire to test.
o No attendance requirements. We are not a school therefore we have no need to keep attendance. You are in charge of your child’s education.
o Access to all electives offered.
o Socialization in a Christian environment with Godly supervision.
o A full time access membership allows your child to come and go as you please. This allows for you to create whatever schedule works for your lifestyle.
Part Time Access Includes:
o Parents provide student with all work, work is not assigned by the tutor.
o Tutors assist students as needed while in the learning center.
o Access is restricted to predetermined days and times as agreed upon by parent and tutor.
o No attendance requirements.
o Socialization in a Christian environment with Godly supervision.
Field Trips
We take field trips to enhance the learning environment. Trips include the zoo, science centers, space center, museums, and more.
Evaluation & Testing
Tutors help to maintain a custom student portfolio, dependent upon the student's level of participation. Certified teacher evaluation is provided at the end of the academic year for that student, as required by the state, should that be a need. Standardized testing opportunities are available, should the parent desire to test.
